Good evening,
First of all thanks a lot for this great app.
In my search to create a tracking page on our website I searched for a simple app that could send the location directly to our server and also worked in background.
SendLocation is exactly what I needed.
Background updating is still not 100% clear to me. Sometimes it sends data only when I move from one cell to another (+/-15km) with no speed and heading, sometimes it sends each 10 seconds all info (with the app still closed)
One feature request, a parameter that determines how often in a minute the app sends the data.
Best regards and keep up the good work,
Maurice

It’s really unclear to me too. Apple has given really limited options for developers on this. I hope it gets better some day!
The latest version you distributed works a lot more consistent now.
I use the setting “use frequent background updating” which gives all data per point pretty frequent.
Do you know what the maximum update frequency is in this case?
Thanks for the great development. Appreciate it a lot and helps our foundation a lot. Will show you the implementation soon on our website. Still doing some tests at this moment.
Regards Maurice
Good to hear!
I have no idea of the frequency, it’s all in Apple’s hands..
Hey could you publish an description what each value is?
I don’t understand what “vacc”, “hacc” and “quick”(always empty?) does.
Also, is the speed in km/h or m/s?
vacc = vertical accuracy
hacc = horizontal accuracy
quick = the selection from quick menu (3d touch)
Speed is in m/s.
Thanks.
Another question, could you in a future update add “charging” status to the url as well?
Something like true for connected to power and false if running from battery?
I think that information is not available through the API.
I’m not an IOS app developer but maybe you can provide the feature of charging. the following article describe how it works.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/839279/detect-if-device-is-charging
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13186203/how-to-know-when-the-device-is-charging/13186288
(but the stackoverflow articles are old.)
The app has saved me a lot of time to have not to develop your own app. Perfect. But I have a question. It is possible to send all hour an update to get the current battery state ? We use this app in a fire truck. We want to know if the phone is not charging right.
thanks, good work!
The app sends battery charging level as one parameter, maybe you could use that?
I can no longer find this on the App Store – has the app been removed by Apple under ther recent cull of location-sending apps?
It should be there still. I hope 🙂
